19th c. Mexican Retablo San Antonio and Christ Niño

This is an absolutely charming depiction of Saint Anthony holding the Child Jesus. It is painted oil on tin with some surface abrasion as seen in the details below. San Antonio, patron saint of lost articles, fertility and expectant mothers, is shown with his attribute blossoming lily, a sign of purity, as well as his writing implements and rosary. This is a beautiful retablo, excellent for any devotional collection.
