Antique Mexican Spanish Colonial Church Processional Cross, Crucifix This early 20th century processional cross comes from a village in the Chiapas region of Mexico. This type of cross is carried during religious processions, especially during Semana Santa. The cross is formed from 2 interlocking pieces of wood with the base well worn from devotional use. The strong image of the crucified Christ is formed from bronze and appears to have evidence of silver plating in the recesses. This is a wonderful Spanish colonial treasure from Mexico!
