Antique Spanish Colonial Christ Niño Santo

This is a beautifully carved Spanish colonial figure depicting the baby Jesus, or Cristo Niño. The Niño is carved from wood and polychromed with the addition of beautiful glass eyes. There are three holes in his head where most probably potencias once were, now replaced with a silver corona. He is in wonderful condition with an old indigenous repair to his shoulder, some expected loss to his finger tips and toe, but minimal loss of paint. The expressive Niño Santo is perched on a stand and is a wonderful devotional figure.
