Antique Spanish Colonial Silver Santo Madonna Crown

This is a wonderful Spanish colonial silver crown intended for a Santo or Virgen Madonna, from South America. The heavy crown has been beautifully formed from high content silver with deep repoussé and open work with typical Spanish Colonial foliate designs. The sides of the crown are not soldered, but have been joined to the bottom with hand made metal joiners, typical of antique coronas. The crown is in excellent condition and is a reminder of the exquisite silver work of Colonial South America - a wonderful treasure!

Measurements:    3  3/4" high (9.5 cm); interior opening measurement is 1 7/8" (4.6 cm), 87.8 grams
